Tank Needs Your Help!
Tank came to Lake Humane Society as part of an animal cruelty investigation. Upon examination, it was found that he was most likely part of a dog fighting ring. Tank suffers from severe trauma to his left eye. He has Uveitis which is swelling in the eye, a swollen and infected front leg, suspected degenerative joint disease in his back legs and has bite marks all over his body. Due to the severity of his condition, our Veterinarian feels that Tank's eye may need to be enucleated (removed).
Even after all this special boy has gone through, Tank is the sweetest dog and loves to give kisses. Tank is just 5 years old and still has so much life to live. With your help, he will live a long and happy life in a home where he will be safe and loved. While waiting for his surgery next week, Tank is being treated with antibiotics and pain medication for infections and receiving medicated eye drops to see if his eye can be saved. For the time being, he is getting plenty of TLC from our staff while he awaits his surgery. He is a very affectionate boy and will be available for adoption once he recovers.
Tank's care can cost upwards of $1,500. This estimate includes the medication and treatment for his operation, recovery and post-op care. In addition to his extensive medical care, LHS will neuter and microchip Tank, as well as provide him with preventatives and initial vaccines.
All donations made to this fundraising page will be designated to our Angel Fund, and 100% of your gift will go toward Tank and his lifesaving care. Once these animals have fully recovered, any excess funds will remain in our Angel Fund and will be used to help the next animal in need of extensive or emergency medical care.
We can't give these loving pets a second chance without you! Please donate today and save lives.
